WordPress SEO Plugin by YOAST – can't remove canonical links

    I placed this

    add_filter('wpseo_canonical', '__return_false');
add_filter('wpseo_next_rel_link', '__return_false');

    in functions.php of active theme, link rel=”next” gone, but link rel=canonical still present.

    After deactivating the plugin there is no canonical link, so it’s generated by this plugin.

    What im doing wrong?
