    WordPress version: 3.4.2
    WordPress SEO version: 1.3.1.1

I recently upgraded to WordPress SEO v 1.3.1.1. I have users who are contributors reporting they are unable to change their password or edit any of their profile details. When the user clicks the “update profile” button they receive the message “Are you sure you want to do this?”, but are unable to proceed further (i.e. no yes/no option, etc). Admin users do not experience the same issue.

I narrowed the issue down to the WordPress SEO plugin by disabling all plugins, reactivating them individually (deactivating after confirmation and repeating) until I found that the WordPress SEO plugin is causing this. I also have another WordPress instance for another site. I did not have the SEO plugin installed on this site. I installed it, added a contributor and expereicned the same issue. When the SEO plugin is disabled on both sites, the update functionality works as designed. I did not experience this issues until the 1.3.1.1 upgrade.

I located v 1.2.8.7 of the WordPress SEO plugin on the yoast site. I uninstalled 1.3.1.1 and installed 1.2.8.7. The issues is resolved. I will await a response and fix before upgrading the Yoast WordPress SEO plugin

I have the same problem, disabling the plugin resolves the issue.

    same here

I installed 1.2.8 and things are fine

The export settings has disappeared too

    WordPress version: 3.4.2
    WordPress SEO version: 1.3.1.1

I can also verify this problem. Not just for the contributor role but also for the subscriber role.

    Newest WP installed.
WP SEO version: 1.3.1.1 and 1.3.1 and developer version.

I tried all three version, same problem here. Both subscriber and contributor can not update their profile or change their password.

Installed 1.2.8.7 as kbolick advice fixed the problem ??

Hope the new update fix this issue since it is pretty important error.

    Thanks Joost!

Still having a similar issue, but not with profile and password. I can’t use the Titles and Meta section of WordPress SEO; when I try to save, I get the “Are you sure you want to do this?” message, and then it just goes back to the Titles and Meta page, over and over and won’t let me save. Not sure if it affects the other parts of WordPress SEO, cause I only need to/have only used the Titles and Meta section.

    WordPress version: 3.5.1
    Wordpress SEO version: 1.4.7
