• Hi
    WordPress version: 3.4.2
    WordPress SEO version: 1.3.1.1

I did this: Enabled both WPML CMS and WordPress SEO. Set Frontpage to Static Page (Home) and Set Blog Page to Blog – showing 6 posts. Set Blog page to show excerpts.

I expected the plugin to do this: The blog page shows the Excerpts correctly – one for each post. When you click the Excerpt to read more you are taken to the single page view where every blog posts displays in duplicate one under another.

You can see that behaviour here:

If I disable WPML CMS leaving WordPressSEO active – the double posting disappears and the post displays singly as expected. If I disable WordPressSEO leaving WPML CMS Active then I also see only one single post.

As soon as both plugins are enabled together back comes the double posting.

Reading on the internet I see a number of people reporting this issue with various different templates so I think it unlikely to be template specific.

    Does anyone have a solution?

  • This is the first time we’re seeing such issue. It might be due to a new version of something, or a specific problem on your site.

Have you reported it on our support forum?

If so, please let me know the link to that posting and I’ll assign the correct support person to it.

    Hi
Yes I did report it there and support did give instructions for a temporary solution which meant adapting a template file in the theme. However this is not a permanent solution as the changes are likely to have to be replicated every time there is a theme update and the file is overwritten.

There are several people experiencing the issue all using different themes and I wonder if someone can test at your end using the two activated plugins for WPML and WordPress SEO and see if the problem can be replicated.

Here was the support link anyway.

    Thanks

I see that Harshad, from our support, helped you get this solved for the specific theme. I’m checking with him what the root cause of the problem is and we’ll see how to fix it for everyone.
