• Hi,

Recently, I set up a WordPress Blog on a public IP and got it working. I want this to be used by a known set of people and hence, I won’t open the registrations for all. Due to the above, I tried registering the users manually with their respective e-mail addresses. Everything worked fine except for the fact that the Account details that go in an e-mail to the registered user are being marked as spam. I have checked this on Gmail and Yahoo as yet.

Is there a way in which I can get these notifications through the spam filters? In near future, I’m planning to register some more users and I don’t think it would be a good idea to spend some more time sending them emails manually just to make sure that their account details reach them.

  • As an end user, you have very little, if any, control over what yahoo or postini (google, hotmail, etc.. flags as spam.

Be content that its actually going through at all, and ask your users to check their spam folders.

Yeah, but how would I ask the users to check their spam folders? I’d probably use an e-mail for that…and I’d rather prefer sending the password in the same mail instead of sending it separately. Not a good idea…

Instead, I was thinking of modifying the e-mail body according to some conventions using which the e-mail won’t be considered as spam.

    Can anybody confirm that?
