• Today a problem started where one of our search capabilities was no longer working. We have a feature on the site where people can search for meetings. This search function began to act starnge.

When I went into WP-admin, there was a problem. I received an error message that the page could not be served at this time. The I just started getting a blank page. I cannot enter the Admin program.

I called our ISP and they do not troubleshoot issues with WordPress, so I am basically on my own. Can anyone help me determine what the issue is? I have a cloaned site located at cloan.sca-recovery.com. If I must I can replace this site with the one that does nton work (although I am not exactly sure how to do that. (I could use help with that if it comes to that). But if there is a way to determine the issue with the WOrdPress install that would be great.

    Thanks

    Greg

It seems as if it accepts my username and password and then brings up the correct URL but the page is blank

If I bring up the site itself, it loads and I have the black band on the top as if I can choose the dashboard and edit a page, (It seams as if I am signed on) but I am unable to do choose dashboard or edit. When I do, I come up with another black page.

There is definitly an issue, but I just do not know how to figure out what it going on or how to fix it.

Also I made a clone of the site a couple of months ago. I have a copy of the /WP and /WP/WP-Admin directories. The site does not change much, can the clone copy help me at all fix this issue??

    Greg

Might be a long shot, but I was having the admin service me a 404 page instead of the dashboard. I have an htaccess file in the wp-admin directory that restrict access by IP address. I realized my IP changed from what I had previously in the file.

Might want to check to see if an htaccess file is located within wp-admin and if anything unusual is inside it.

I use WinSCP for FTP. It has a nice synchronize feature that allows you back up your wp folder locally. Comes in handy if you want to compare your server files against your local files for any changes.

Thanks, I checked and I do not have an .htaccess file within the wp-admin directory. I think I am looking at an actual WordPress corruption. This is concerning becuase I have no idea how this happend. No changes or development has been done on this site for months.

In any event, I do have a cloaned site that I use to test upgrades etc. That site is working fine. Any idea of the proper procedure for moving my cloned site cloan.sca-recovery.org to my live location https://www.sca-recovery.org??

I have never actually done that, but I think i may be my best option given the fact I have no idea what is gping on.

I’ve never done it before, but I’d suggest visiting here:

Move WordPress from Subdomain to Root
    https://askwpgirl.com/category/moving-and-migrating-wordpress/

She had a helpful article explaining how to move WP from a subfolder to root which helped me out. She has a series of similar help links in the footer.

Hope this helps and good luck.
