I have just started making my first wordpress site and am making a lot of changes to it and everytime I make a change I refresh the website on another tab… I keep doing this over and over as I have a lot of changes and customizations to make. After I have done this a lot of times I loose access to the site and admin dashboard and cant access it again for ages, I have deleted my browser history and flushed the DNS but still have to wait along time to be able to access the site or admin dashboard again. I know that it is a problem with my computers and not the site or connection because I have multiple computers and when it happens to one of them I check on another and I can access it until I again make too many changes and refreshes on that computer and the same thing happens.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

PS. when I cannot get access if I go to my site it either sais cannot be displayed or this domain was recently purchased from namecheap or just loads forever and does nothing….. and if I go to my admin sign in sometimes it sais cannot be displayed or it actually comes up but when I type in username and password and press enter it just loads for ages and does nothing…and I have also tried deleting cache in dashboard to try and prevent it but it doesent seem to do anything.

  • How long ago did you setup your domain name and server? This sort of sounds like a issue with a new website and DNS propagation taking time.

Also do you have any security plugins installed that may be blocking individual computer IP addresses that are sending too many requests?

try limiting yourself to 2 tabs and see if that helps.

Hi, I have an issue, I was working on my page and about 15 min ago every page I try to refresh is say : page not found!
    Any idea?
    thanks

    Hi Liveroomescape,

Julian Fox.. thanks for replying…I set the domain and hosting up yesterday and the only plugins that I have installed are woocommerce, BackUpWordpress, Contact Form to Email and the plugins that came with it that ive kept are Akismet(not activated), WordPress Importer, WP Super Cache. Anymore ideas on how I can fix this?

and could you explain what DNS propagation is and how to fix it if its not too much trouble for you, thanks again.

Hi I started a new topic with a title :page not found error
    thanks

    @uber2046

After googling all i could find is that some hosts do block individual computers if they send too many requests too quickly, and on a particular forum this one particular person who generally had 13 tabs open would get blocked for 30 minutes and then he could access the site again. this kind of sounds similar to your situation. It turned out the host was blocking him because his browser was making too many connection requests, but everyone agreed that 13 tabs should not produce too many requests and that it was still a mystery.

Sorry i can’t help, hope the info above steers you in the right direction, maybe give your host a call or shoot em an email?

I opened about 5 page to see what I`m changing. Lets see after 30 min. Thanks

    DNS and DNS Propagation:

So DNS means Domain Name Server and there are heaps and heaps of them all around the world. when you register a new domain name it has to ‘propagate’ to all of the DNS servers around the world and this takes time, sometimes 72 hours or longer and during the time the website will be available from some places but not other places, depending on your physical location on earth.

This is a natural thing that occurs every time someone registers a new domain or they tell their hosting provider to point their domain name to a new server.

    ??

@liveroomescape I will take a look at your topic now.

okay I guess that might be it…. the only time it doesent work is when I have been going on and off the site a whole bunch of times making changes so I guess it wont affect anyone else going on my site because they will only go to it once or twice in a day MAX so thanks mate

    No Worries ?? You’re welcome
