• HI,

I have created a wordpress website that unfortunately it not displaying on all WIFIs. It’s for a client in Jordan, and over 4 wifis in Jordan aren’t displaying it (page cannot be reached error). It works fine for me in the UK. And other wordpress websites open fine in Jordan.

I have tried with a basic wordpress install and the same problem remains. I’ve checked with the hosting company and they’ve said that the problem isn’t with them – the tracing route shows request timed out.

I’ve been unable to get to the bottom of the problem and not sure why my wordpress sites are getting blocked. URLS created on Carrd open fine. Does anyone have any ideas or anything I can change wordpress end?

If the website isn’t able to be shown on all wifis then it’s totally useless for my client and I’m really frustrated with the problem.

    Thanks

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

anything I can change wordpress end

Nothing. Unless you are using blocking on WordPress end (security plugin, geolocation block).

Otherwise reachability of your site depends on your site hosting,
if its not reachable from some locations, your only choice is to change hosting for your site, one, which will be reachable by site audience.

Some countries are known to block traffic. You have to live with that and take to consideration when choosing hosting for your site.

Thanks for your response. That can happen, even if other sites from my hosting are showing fine that aren’t built on WordPress? It’s only the wordpress ones that aren’t being shown.

I will try a new hosting package but was trying to avoid extra expense.

Same hosting to same visitors? It seems to be strange issue,
however, if hosting has something like WordPress hosting with one IP shared to multiple sites, then this IP can be possibly blocked by GOV regulator in Jordan.

You can try relocating your WordPress site to another IP within same hoster and assign dedicated IP to it, so your site doesnt get blocked because it shares IP with some other site.

Yes, website on same hosting built on Carrd works absolutely fine on all IPs in Jordan, same ones I tested the WordPress ones on.

I tried a WordPress site I built on a different hosting package (and different IP) and this wouldn’t open either, so it definitely seems to be linked to WordPress sites. It’s a strange one.

*same host, Krystal, but different account / package

Thank you. I think it’s more likely to be network routing. Where should I open a ticket? I have the results of a traceroute I took while in Jordan when it wasn’t working that I can send through.
