  • For reliable email deliver-ability, you would need to use a email service and a SMTP plugin to connect to such service. This often has a free plan for low volume of emails but beyond that you would have to pay.

    Its totally possible to send out emails as-is with your webhost, provided they have quality control over what emails are sent out. Often users abuse their webhosts and hurts the reputation of emails coming out of such IP addresses.

    So, best solution would be to use a SMTP service and a SMTP plugin. Often after configuring the plugin, you can test whether the connection works.

    Thank you @ashfame

    However, my SMTP configurations are not working.

    The wordpress is not even sending mail to admin.

    When users register on my site, they don’t receive welcome email even though all email series are set-up on the site.

    I have tried contact my webhost but they are not responding yet.

    For example, if I am installing a plugin that requires email confirmation, the mail since it is processed from my site will not be sent.

    However, my SMTP configurations are not working.

    You need to get the SMTP configuration done correctly, before your install would be able to send emails that actually reach people’s inboxes. What’s the issue with the SMTP configuration that you can’t get it right?

    There was a problem while sending the test email.

    An issue was detected.

    This means your test email was unable to be sent.

    Typically this error is returned for one of the following reasons:

    • Plugin settings are incorrect (wrong SMTP settings, invalid Mailer configuration, etc).
    • Your web server is blocking the connection.
    • Your host is rejecting the connection.

    Recommended next steps:

    1. Triple check the plugin settings, consider reconfiguring to make sure everything is correct (eg bad copy and paste).
    2. Contact your web hosting provider and ask them to verify your server can make outside connections. Additionally, ask them if a firewall or security policy may be preventing the connection – many shared hosts block certain ports.
      Note: this is the most common cause of this issue.
    3. Try using a different mailer.

    What mailer (SMTP provider) are you using?

    I have contacted my SMTP host, they said they SMTP is working fine from their end that it seems to be a server-specific issue.
    My webhost is yet to respond.

    @iipmi That plugin is literally advising on what’s the issue and recommended next steps. What problem are you facing following those steps?

    @gappiah

    I am using Sendpulse

    @ashfame

    I have no problem following the steps.
    My SMTP host has confirmed that the setting s are correct but my webhost is yet to respond.

    Ensure you filled out the information correctly, with no extra spaces etc or copy-paste errors.

    Thank you.

    Perhaps, I need to wait for the webhost.
    I have actually followed all instructions
