I’m a designer not a developer so please forgive my ignorance.

I have a client interested in utilising WordPress for a site update to refresh their look and utilise the user friendly back-end WordPress offers, however, they currently host their own site on a .NET (3.5) Windows Server (2008 R2 SP1) using IIS 7.5 and SQL Server Enterprise (2008 R2 SP2). I recognise they will not be able to host a WordPress (PHP) site.

    My query:
Can we simply host their WordPress based main site “www.example.com” offsite on PHP hosting and keep their ASP.NET based pages – “www.service.example.com”, “www.example.com/123online.aspx” and “www.example.com/myorder”?

What kind of issues might this present? Would I be better off looking at a .NET based CMS system?

PS I’m a mac user so a .NET CMS system is not ideal.

    Feedback greatly appreciated!
