WordPress static themes

Hello there,

I want to build a very basic yet stylish static site for my business incorporating just the usual home page, about us, contact etc. I have looked through many WordPress themes but they all appear to be blog orientated. Are there any wordpress themes directly suitable for static sites available, in other words, WordPress static themes?

I have heard that you can make changes to WordPress blog orientated themes but is there a step-by-step guide to this process anywhere? I am new to web design so the simpler the guide the better.
