WordPress Stats – 2 Get Request

Hi,
I am just analyzing my website performance and determined, that WordPress Stats is loading two different files:
https://stats.wordpress.com/e-201343.js
https://stats.wordpress.com/g.gif?host=…Is it not enough to load only either the JS-File or the GIF-File?
