• It’d be nice if the WordPress plugin library would certify plugins as “styling friendly.”

This could be done relatively easily by using a script that would automatically parse plugins submitted (new or updated) to the plugin library for use of the CSS specifier !important in the submitted files (e.g. *.php, *.css, *.js, etc). Plugins that pass the screening could receive a “WordPress Styling Friendly Certified” badge, or some other recognition, which could be used as a filter when searching for plugins.

This would help to further improve WordPress’s reputation as offering plugins certified to not conflict with user-defined styles, and it would encourage plugin authors to design styling friendly plugins by publicly recognizing their efforts, which in turn would help to drive their active installs counts.
