WordPress table column descriptions ..

Where can I find the WordPress table column descriptions? like am interested in knowing about the post_status column of the posts table, what different value can it store and how do they effect a post?
Actually am trying to port data from blog to another [identical] blog but want to port only the ‘published’ posts.
I will really appreciate an input into this.
