• I’ve had a WordPress for awhile and a friend of mine trying to start his own accidently changed my wp-config.php file. I changed it back and now when viewing my blog (https://www.housetepes.net/uninspiring/) I get the:

    It doesn’t look like you’ve installed WP yet. Try running install.php.

    message. I know my stuff is still there because my SQL DB still has all the records for posts and stuff so my question is what is making WordPress think it hasn’t been installed and how do I change that.

  • yo,
    seems to be a behaviour of wp2.0 – just had the one you mention one minute ago…
    using the “back” button in firefox helped.
    wp2.0 really sucks – regarding the tons of problems that this new version brings and slow isn’t enough an expression of how it acts when posting… while i’m writing this – wp2.0 is saving my latest posting – by now nearly 5 minutes have gone by…
    lucky me i have set up “drupal” on my webspace few months ago and wp2.0 now delivers the perfect reason to get into this fast and relyable cms…

    That wasn’t really my problem…

    @woodenmonkeylamp,
    Check again the table prefix in
    a) your database where the WP install is
    b) in your config file
