WordPress times out – cant view php pages

  • HI folks,

    I can access FTP no problem, and browse to html files.

    I have three smallish sites using the same database with different table prefixes. All of them have suddenly stopped working.

    I can’t login or view wordpress php files. I’ve made no major changes of late to plugins, themes etc.

    Any ideas?

  • Can you try to upload a simple “hello world” php file and try to access that? Does it work properly?

    I’ve tried that, but it hangs and can’t access the page.

    Any other ideas guys?

    I’ve tried renaming theme folders, still no joy.

    I can see all of my database tables when I login through my interace.

    Shall I contact my host and ask them to restart PHP? everything else seems to be there.

    You mean you tried to do a “hello World” php file and it still not loading?

    This is definitely a Web server configuration / problem. Definitely not WordPress related.

    You should contact your hosting provider support.

    My hosts said something is causing the PHP module to bomb out, although I havent made any big changes recently.

    Hello again,

    Do you think its worthwhile, renaming a few plugins or deleting some recently added content? Incase that is causing the problem?

    I dont want this server going down again.

    Sorry for the delayed response.

    Yes it is worth trying to disable all plugins and re-enabling them one by one to see which one is the culprit
