WordPress Timing Out

I will be working on a post or page and a message pops up that I have timed out and must log back in. Note: I’m still in the post or page. When I log back in it’s all lost if I hadn’t saved it already.

Next, I’ll be doing anything else in WordPress, I open a new tab and navigate to another site and even if I’m there for a few seconds WordPress times out. An example is today, I was in the Plugin Manager and I opened a new tab and navigated to the Plugin site to read something about it. I returned within less than a minute to find I had been timed out.

This happens even when I’ve been in WP for only a few minutes.
