I just updated my site to the latest version of wordpress. For some reason, when I login now, the entire left column is no longer showing. This is the column where you can administer the site… add posts, add pages, add plugins, etc. The dashboard is there except all the administrative functions normally in the left column. Does anyone know what the issue is?

    Thanks!

  • Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

Found out it was a plugin issue. When I deactivated the offending plugin, the admin area came back.
