WordPress Update Last Night

  • Hi all I updated WordPress to the latest edition last night and now the site is not accessible. Now all I can see is –

    (I can’t access admin either, it says my passowrd is incorrect) So I requested a new password but when I click on the link I get the same message as below.

    Can anyone offer any advice BTW I am a basic user.

    1-Do you have access to your webhosting account?
    If yes – you can create a new password using these instructions.

    2-You might need to temporarily disable your plugins and theme (this can normally be done in webhosting account by renaming certain folders) to regain access to your WordPress dashboard

    3-If you are not sure where to find things in your webhosting account, please contact the support team for the webhosting vendor.

    All I have access to is my Ionos Account which is where I normally gain access to my Word Press account. I cant get inside WordPress to turn off the current theme (Free edition Sydney) also I cant switch off the pluggins.

    The Web Page itself still loads up but has text written across the top of the page –

    I have tried accessing WP Admin via my android phone app but that will not give me access either.

    Will this ever resolve itself if I cant access the control panel?

    Thanks Lisa I will get in touch with them but theyre not the most helpful people to deal with.

    Fair play to Mia at Ionios she disabled the pluggin it was Askimet.. All fixed thanks for your help Lisa take care Tim

    Looks like the problem is actually with a different plugin called “akismet-privacy-policies” which is not the same as the Akismet plugin. You may want to remove that plugin.
