• I am using WordPress 3.9.2 and theme Karma

Yesterday I was happily adding Karmas shortcodes to different pages of my website I am trying to create.

Whilst adding these shortcodes I noticed I was due to upgrade WordPress to 3.9.2, I did an automatic update of WordPress and then went back to adding more shortcodes. This is went the problem started.

When I click on the green + button for the shortcode dialog box a blank dialog box appears whereas before doing the WordPress update the dialog box had a drop down menu detailing all the shortcodes.

I can’t workout how to get the shortcodes to work again, I’m afraid I’m completely new to WordPress and making websites so I’m not very good at all the technical terminology. I’ve spent a lot of time trying to work it out and reading through different bits and bobs on the internet but I am completely stuck, if anyone is willin gto help I’d love to hear from you :o) Cheers

  • You may have more luck at the theme authors’ support forum – For paid themes, you might as well use the support you paid for and see if the theme author can give you a solution.

I would also check your console log for any kind of js errors.

    Hi Craig,

Thanks for your advice, I’ll go onto the Karma support page and ask them too.

Stupid question I’m sure but…. how do I check my console log for js errors and what’s a ‘js’?

    :o)
    Cheers

Depends on what you use for developer tools. In Google Chrome, you can press F12 and click the “Console” tab and check if there are JavaScript errors.

Ohps I guess I should have been able to workout that JS is JavaScript, lol

I’ll give it a go and thanks for your help
