WordPress Updating Causes Me to Lose Modifications

you need to make a child theme, there’s a plug in you can get to make it easy, that’s what i did. it’s called orbisius child theme creator. then you just make the changes to to the style.css in the child theme with the plug in’s editor.

I’ve heard about child themes. So when WP updates, the child theme won’t be updated? Or how does that work? Does this mean there are two different websites to modify? I’m confused ??

Is there an easy way to create a child theme, I read a little bit and tried with Filezilla but couldn’t make it work!
