WordPress Username/Login not recognized

  • I tried to reset the password on my wordpress last week, and when I got the new one and entered it, it is now saying that the user name doesn’t exist. Does anyone know where I can go to get WP to just reset the username and password so I can try and fix the hack job that happened to my site?

    I am a NOVICE user. I paid someone to build the site for me, and that company went out of business and now I can’t get ahold of anyone of them.

    I am trying to get back into my wordpress site after it has been reverted back to default theme by my host because my site had been hacked.
    Wordpress will not recognise my password or my username.
    Yet when I tried to login to the Forum I had to use another email address as it was telling me that my usual one (which I use as a username to login to my site) already exists!
    What’s going on – How can I get into my aite?

    If you’re hosted on wordpress.COM that’s a different matter.

    I have a blog and now can’t log in. Tried resetting the password per insturctions on the WordPress site, but the system told me that user doesn’t exist. I created a new account with that same username. Maybe that was the wrong thing to do. Can you tell me, please, how I can access the old account? Thanks!
