WordPress VERY slow in loading website and admin area

  • Hi!

    I hope you can help.

    I have a client who is running WP 3.5.1 and when she looks at her website and logs into the admin area the whole thing is running really slow, and I mean slow. To the point that she has to F5 to kick it to load again. She is spending hours updating the website and it shouldn’t take that long.

    You know that WP is really quick.

    When I test on my machine and a few other machines in IE9 everything is working fine and as it should.

    Is there any suggestions? It cannot be the plugins as they are working fine for me…

    I cannot recreate this problem on my machine or anyone elses for that matter. She is able to look at other websites normally but not hers.

  • When I test on my machine and a few other machines in IE9 everything is working fine and as it should.

    It might be something wrong with that machine, not the site. Ask your friend to scan her machine for viruses, browser settings, clear cache and cookies and also missing files if any in her OS.

    I have asked her to do that and her IT guy has done this…

    Have you heard of this before?

    Yes, it is quite possible. It can also be because of her ISP/ local network settings.
