• Hello

I am trying to upload the video files I have on my library media into the post – pages. The video since to upload to the page with it black box. But when I pressing the play it start rolling endlessly and the video itself doesn’t show up

Someone told me that I shouldn’t upload files into the world press -but URL only. In order to avoided crash -that he said that even can happened on a dedicate server

Any way I can’t upload even one video and make it work
Can it be a code problem? Or other! I am trying to built a web based on pay per view -and I am afraid the sis not going to be!
I am afraid that problems will continue all the way and

I can’t sell video if technical problems with loading the video will be. I am not sure if this is a wordpress problem or the hosting but the hosting didn’t help me with it until this moment
I hope you can help me solve it
    Many thanks
    Norma

  • Hello, drnorma, & welcome. Most of the time, there are size limits regarding uploaded files. Videos are highly likely to exceed those limits. Sometimes these can be modified in the php.ini file, but, even w/that, the likelihood is that it may still not be enough.

What I think you’re going to need to do is to put the videos in a folder unrelated to WordPress & create links to them in posts or pages, or embed the video in a player.

    Hello and thank you

yes i know that embed or putting url in the page is more easy
did you hear about CINCOPA they host the videos and i use a URL?
they looks great but i dont know them. my videos are not too long between 4-8 minute between 150-350 MB usually

can you recommend me of a player -possibly free one to do that ?
I didnt found any that fits. i need to upload around 3TB videos
3000GB and it need to be pay per veiw web

    many thanks Norma

Well, since I think we’ve determined that this is no longer a WordPress issue, my opinion is that you’re best off finding a small business forum or similar. I personally don’t sell videos, so I would not be a good candidate to recommend any video hosting services. I will say this–you can’t host that much yourself from a shared or even vps account, & a dedicated server of that size would cost a large amount of money. You’ll likely also need a shopping cart solution, & there are many out there.

I think you’ll just have to investigate the various services, get reviews, etc.–the cheapest 1 is not always the best in terms of quality. I wish you much success.
