• Hi. Yesterday morning (around 6AM IST), I noticed that the wordpress website https://www.kaushali.co.in was very slow in response. I started troubleshooting to check reason for slow response but GTMetrix kept timing out. A couple of hours later, the website URL started redirecting to a spam website. I suspect this could be the result of hacking, specifically SQL injection using the contact form text area field. I had to finally restore the website using last month’s backup, which resulted in some loss of customer and order data. I also installed Cerber security plugin to detect malicious attempts in the future.

    What I would like to know from WordPress support team is whether there is any foolproof way to avoid getting hacked through SQL code injection method in the future?

  • I have three websites which were all hacked. I installed the free version of wordfence and found it amazing. It cleaned all the sites and now monitors my sites, sending me constant alerts. I was also able to set up 2FA with it.

    WordPress requires some security precautions to be taken as you know not every application is 100% secure. Some of the precautions are explained here:
