I installed a WordPress widget called “Arbitrary text and HTML” onto the footer of my newsmagazine https://www.buellreview.com and the widget is called “BlogRoll” and only one name listed “www.newsninja2012.com. I want to either eliminate or alter this widget, and add to it in the text box, but I can’t find it and I did disable all my JetPack plugins, so it isn’t one of those! How do I get to where this widget is?

k, I have two screen shots of my dashboard. one with Destro.Pro and the other with Twenty Twelve. I’l put them in Photoshop and post them up here.

ok but take the screenshots of the testing123 install, the one where you haven’t installed any plugins or modified anything via phpmyadmin.

Sure, but the only thing I modified in my php admin was disabling plugins……….

Great. Flickr isn’t working either. It’s telling me it has connection problems.

Both flickr and photobucket are overloaded and I can’t upload to there at this time, but I put all 3 pictures of my dashboard here:

I only see 1 pic there but the widget sections are present on the right side.

    What is the problem then?

The picture of Theme Alley where my dasboard has no main sidebar is what happened when 48 hours had passed and my site went live. Now at the time I thought this might be normal for the sidebar to disappear since my site went on the net because the sidebar would have been finished and I didn’t question it. I put the ads and other widgets up in the footer including the one with “Blogroll without a main sidebar just by applying the widget directly. Same things with the ads from Amazon. Same thing with my Calendar. Now do you see what I mean? Once those were up, I have them on my website, but I can’t do anything with them, they are stuck there. Putting these pics of my dash on buell review testing page is the only way I can get them in to tech support at the moment.

I’ll post the URL of my dashboard from my active website then. You must not be able to see my issue.

This is how it looked when Esmi and I took my website back to Twenty Twelve.

My problem is as long as I don’t do anything, enable plugins or build content, add ads, everything is fine. Once my website went live on my host, I lost my main sidebar on my dashboard.

Post the dashboard widget page of the buellreview.com/testing123/ where you haven’t installed any plugins.

    also deactivate jetpack.

I am willing to clear my site from my host and start over and give it another shot, but what will that do to me with the search engines?

How hard will that nail me in rankings? My site has only been up for few days and only has 72 hits so far from unique visitors. It would seem that if this is necessary, then the earlier the better, right?

I’m not going around messing under the hood if I’m not real clear about what is going on in there. That’s why I followed instructions in PhpMyAdmin and only shut down my plugins, with help, once I realized I had a problem! See, When my main sidebar went down after my site going live, I thought this might be normal. It wasn’t until HipHopInEnglish pointed out this was an error that I realized I had a major problem. I also built this using Internet Explorer which froze a couple of times forcing me to restart the browser. I should have known better and used FireFox, My BAD!

Ok. here you go. Jetpack is off. No building anything other than what I put up here for you to see and no plugins installed, nothing touched in PhpMyAdmin.

    https://buellreview.com/testing123/?p=40

Have to admit this is rather unorthodox, but it is working! I’m glad that having issues means I get lucky enough to work with the format developer! I can’t think of anything you wouldn’t know about the program you wrote! Could Internet Explorer have caused unforeseen problems if it froze and was forced to recover the webpage while I was working?

okay, by default its all good.
Now add one plugin and see.
continue one by one till the sidebar disappears.
when you figure out which plugin causes it, you will have to choose between the plugin or the theme, unless its a very popular plugin and then i will see whats up between those two.

    use Firefox just to safe.

Oh, there was one thing I did modify via PhpMyAdmin. I made a spelling error is a widget and I had to go there and correct the error there because I didn’t have a sidebar if that helps. I found the widget searching line by line until I came across it with the spelling error in the title.
I opened “Edit”, Corrected the spelling error, then closed and got out of there.
