• Hello All,

I have a site in WordPress where i face widgets values are automatically getting removed entirely and becomes empty. I don’t find traces for deleting(who has deleted the widgets).
I guess is there any option/possibility where widgets values may automatically get removed.

  • Is it multiple widgets? (an entire sidebar?)
Is it only certain widgets? Are they core or plugin or theme widgets?
Are you switching themes when they disappear? (or deactivating plugins)
Are you looking at the database or just in the widget list?
Do you have a caching plugin?
Do you have a security plugin?

Are you using HTML, PHP or JS code in your widgets?

    Hello Joy,

    1. Sidebar remains on page but content in widgets gets removed and only the title name remains in widgets.
    2. Theme widgets( path: Design-> widgets & All widgets values are removed).
    3. Manually recover using DB backup.
    4. Both DB and widget list.
    5. W3 total cache has been used.
    6. There are three security plugin used for better performance( Sucuri WP Plugin, Wordfence and iThemes Security ).

From these is there any possibility for disappear of content from widgets.

    Hello HudsonValleyWebDesign,

Yes of course, HTML and JS code has been used in widgets.

What widgets are you placing code in?

    Hello HudsonValleyWebDesign,

Widgets with option like Navigation’s menu, HTML and Text.

Text contains “<div></div>”, “unordered list” ..etc,
HTML contains “anchor tag” with onclick of new page,
Navigationsmenu contains menu link formed in menu option.
