WordPress with multiply teaser boxes

While adding a blog for family member I started to really enjoy WordPress and the way it worked; I mean I’m really impressed with the simplicity of the system. One reason why I haven’t bothered to check it out earlier is due to that it’s “market” as a blog scripts and that wasn’t my thing.

But, enough about that, as I said while playing around with it and how easy it is to customize and able to keep minimalistic – https://kim.haverblad.net – as much I like the various plug-ins to enhance the sites.

What I now wonder if there is a possibility of setting up WordPress where the site has several so called teaser boxes – https://www.haverblad.se – using the standard WordPress it doesn’t seem possible, or? Or would a plug-in be needed? Is it template driven?
