    Hi there,

I’m at my wits end. I’ve installed quite a few wp installations and never have had the problems I’m having now. I recently just did a clean install of wp as a favour for a friend. At first, I couldn’t even get into the dashboard until the host edited a mod rule, but that’s another matter. Now that I’m in, I can’t create a static home page. This is all with the default wordpress theme.

I’ve changed the site address settings under general so that users don’t have to type the installation folder in the url, but something is weird.

    WordPress Address: https://www.christyvanderveen.com/wp
    Site Address: https://www.christyvanderveen.com

I changed the static page in the customization to be ‘home’, but it doesn’t load. My test pages load fine though.

Typing in https://www.christyvanderveen.com/ should load the home page, but I’m getting a 404. Permalink settings are set to post-name.

    Any ideas?
