wordpress won’t let me create child pages

i’m brand new to wordpress and website creation

How are you trying to create a child page? Do you have any pages created? (You posted a bogus URL as “site I need help with”, so we cannot take a look.)

i created two pages, and tried to make one a child of the other using the attributes. but no pages show up in the pull down field.

my first website ever, and wordpress isn’t very intuitive.

If you create a page and publish it, then it should be available as a parent the next time you create a page. Please provide links to these pages.

i put it as private initially. that was the problem, ugh.
