WordPress won’t let me login…

  • …and I’ve had WordPress up and running just fine since the beginning of February. I have always logged in the same way with no problem, but now when I’m trying it today it won’t work. When I enter the admin and password and hit ok, it only seems to refresh the page, taking me nowhere but remaining on the login page. And I haven’t done anything to the wordpress files except what I already did in February, and I assumed everything was fine since my blog has always been working since. The only file I’ve changed was the index.php file, and I made my own stylesheet instead of the one WP provides. If anyone can help me out with this, thanks. ??
    EDIT: I also tried making WP send me an email with my password, just in case I was entering it in wrong. I got an email back with the correct password and I have been entering it right. I even copied and pasted it from my email and it wouldn’t work.

  • I know this is basic stuff, but did you check your CAPS LOCK and NUM LOCK keys? I have done this a few times and got flustered for no reason.

    Yeah, I checked and my caps lock is off. As for the num lock…what does that do exactly? Sorry If I sound like an idiot, but I do see the num lock key. I pushed it to turn the light on my keyboard on, then tried logging in, and it still wouldn’t work. I pushed the button again to turn it off and the same thing happened. And I’m looking through my wp-admin files and I still have everything there…

    Now that’s weird. I tried logging in from a different computer and it worked. I mean, I’m relieved that it worked but I’m confused as to why it won’t work on my computer. *sighs* Back to the drawing board…

    Ummm….. try checking your cookies in your webbrowser. I had problems once and it was because my browser wasn’t accepting cookies from the site. Once I got that fixed all was OK.

    Sorry it took me a while to respond back here, but I guess it was the cookies thing. Well actually, what I did was I just restarted my computer and then I tried logging in and it worked. ??
