Used Duplicator to move website (firechaplain101.org) from one hosting company to
Bluehost a year ago – was successful and could access WordPress to update website.
When entering the website now I am redirected to firechaplain101.org/fc101dup/ … (fc101dup is a directory within public_hrtml, created by Duplicator).

After “adding” the latest (at the time) Duplicator update (approximately two weeks ago) WordPress would not run. After the WP Login, WP tried to go to firechaplain101.org/fc101dup/wp-admin but WP stopped with a blank screen.

Site URL (in the database at Bluehost) was set to firechaplain101.org and the home field was set to firechaplain101.org/fc101dup. Changed the site URL field to be firechaplain101.org/fc101dup and the problem disappeared (i.e. WordPress started).

The latest Duplicator update was “added” on 12/30/2018 and the problem reoccurred. Both the site URL and home fields are set to firechaplain101.org/fc101dup but the problem still occurs.

WP Login screen was okay but then WP stopped with firechaplain101.org/fc101dup/wp-admin in the URL field. Removed fc101dup/ from the URL and got the message:

    No Update Required!
Your WP database is already up to date

when I continued, WP started the website (from within WP) but when try to go to the dashboard, the URL is back to firechaplain101.org/fc101dup/wp-admin and a blank screen.

Any suggestions would be helpful – I am “dead in the water” for any updates now!

    THANK YOU

    Somewhat embarrassed!

Changed (via Bluehost > WordPress tools > Settings) the site URL AND home fields to firechaplain101.org (removing the fc101dup/ From each field) and WordPress works correctly.

At the risk of having to relabel this topic if the problem reoccurs again, I’ll mark this as Resolved !
