• Just wanted to say that we’ve been using the Yahoo User Interface (YUI) library to build all our themes and completely love it.

Our whole site is based off of YUI and we love the common advertising widths that are a big part of the CSS base.

You can see YUI integrated with our WordPress theme here:

In this particular case we’re using WordPress MU and YUI but the theme also works in standalone versions of WordPress.

We have found that it is a little restricting in that we couldn’t use grid rows for posts as we have a left sidebar and a right sidebar, but it’s been great for general layout.

As far as the rest of the site goes YUI has been a dream to work with and has really made things easy for us.

    Big thumbs up for YUI

  • could you tell us what specific libraries you use from YUI to integrate into wp?

i’m interested in learning more about this.

Right now we’re mostly using it for the YUI grids, resets and fonts CSS libraries on the front end. We had implemented a few Javascript things (like a comment box permanently fixed on the right column) but decided to remove them as they exposed bugs in IE6 we didn’t have time to fix.

On the whole using fonts and grids has been great! The resets have saved us a lot of hassle trying to get all browsers to behave the same. We’ve also used YUI Javascript libraries on a number of back-end projects but they don’t have anything to do with WordPress. So I guess at this point it’s mostly just the CSS as far as WordPress is concerned.
