wordpress.com claims my www.ads-software.com blog name is reserved

  • I had a www.ads-software.com blog hosted on GoDaddy. It was my only wordpress blog at the time. For some reason (akismet?) it was referred to in my wordpress.com login.

    I’ve deleted the GoDaddy-hosted blog.

    WordPress.com still links the “Edit My Profile” link to my old location in my GoDaddy-hosted install location.

    If I try to create a wordpress.com blog using my old blog shortname, it says it’s “reserved”. Wouldn’t it be reserved to me?

    I’ve asked in the wordpress.com forums but they are referring me here because the blog wasn’t hosted on wordpress.com.

  • I would do a who is search on the domain name and see who owns it. It could be a godaddy thing and they might be the ones that own it, or the dns are still pointing to them.
