• Hi,

Under the section ‘people clicked on these links on your blog’ – is it possible that what is shown there was a click by a search engine spider or similar?

    With thanks

Yes, it’s possible, but that’s true of any stats program.

    Thanks,

And here’s me telling the affiliate associates that WordPress.com stats were reliable!

They are reliable ?? That’s a different question, though.

Is it possible you’ll take a wrong turn on the way to the coffee shop you visit every day? Of course. It’s true of anyone.

    Is it likely? No.

It’s possible of any stats program to misinterpret a hit from a spider/search engine as real because sometimes those spiders/search engines change their protocols in unexpected and unannounced ways. It doesn’t happen often, and not with Google or Yahoo much at all, but it can, and does, happen time and again.
