wordpress.com to .org: missing items

  • I recently exported my wordpress.COM site in order to import it to my www.ads-software.com site. Everything ran *mostly* smoothly (it transferred over pages, posts, media files, etc.), but when I got to the site online, it presents a visually-scaled-back version of the .com. The background color is different as are the widgets/sidebar features.

    Can anyone tell me what may be causing this or what I can do to fix it?

  • You need to start customising your theme (new background color etc). Also be aware that themes on wordpress.com often have additional features that are not present by default in the Theme Directory version of the theme.
