• Hi all,

I was able to successfully move my site from WordPress.com to www.ads-software.com today, with my site now being hosted on Bluehost. I was able to import almost everything from my .com site, except (1) only about half of the photos from my media library are showing up and (2) none of the featured images are showing up (there is one for my most recent post, but only because I manually re-added it).

Unfortunately, I assumed the move would be a lot more straightforward than it ended up being. I have already looked through similar answers and the usual techniques are either way too confusingly worded or did not work for me. Does someone have a straight-forward answer to this problem?

(Note: Sadly, I am not terribly adept with coding and advanced web design, so please explain any super-technical concepts with that understanding and I will happily follow any instructions you have!!)

Understood, and I have yet to hear of anyone successfully completing a *complete* migration from wordpress.com to self-hosted since there seems to be no way to export the database and to download /wp-uploads/. At best, at least as far as I know, you might be able to place the two sites side-by-side in a browser to copy-and-paste from one to the other and then use a browser to also copy images for upload to the new site.
