www.ads-software.com plugin directory search algorithm problems

As of the past few days I have noticed that the plugin directory search algorithm has changed, and not for the better.

Note: I am going to give some examples below, but first let me say that none of the plugins below are mine and I have no connection to the plugin authors. I am just using them to illustrate this problem.

A perfect example of the problem – if you do a search by keyword for “pricing tables” the plugin with the most active installs (20k) and a high rating is showing in the middle of the second page — in the 37th position! — :

At the top of the search result is this plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/pricing-tables/

It matches the searched term exactly, by URL name and title. However it only has 700 downloads and not the best rating.

The 2nd the 3rd position are both good plugins (high active installs and ratings) and should be at the top of the search, so no problem there.

In the 4th position and 6th position are two plugins with only 3 stars and low active installs:

https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/price-table/

In the 7th and 8th position are two plugins that have no ratings and 50 active installs:
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/awesome-pricing-tables-lite-by-optimalplugins/
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/pricing-table-shortcode/

If I was looking for a pricing table plugin, why is the most likely one I would want to download and test out on my site in the 37th position of the search results?

When I perform a search, I want the most popular plugins to show up first. That was the way it was as of a few days ago, please bring that way back.
