www.ads-software.com sitename to own domain name

  • Hello,

    I would like to change the domain name for my WordPress account but I am completely clueless on how to do so.

    I tried to change it through the settings on WordPress but learnt about that one the hard way. My current address is “https://localhost/Wordpress” and I bought a domain through names.co.uk which I’d like to use

    I would really appreciate some guidance on this one as I can’t find the correct info for this.

  • Are you asking about a local installation on your own computer or about a live WordPress site hosted somewhere?

    Here is what I find while trying to understand what you have and what you might be wanting to do:
    https://blog.secretslots.com/
    https://www.whois.com/whois/secretslots.com

    https://localhost/Wordpress would be local and not part of the above.

    Sorry, I’m not entirely sure. I created a blog though www.ads-software.com because I wanted to add a specific template which you couldn’t do on wordpress.com.

    I have a Mac, so I had to download Mamp Pro and go through the steps that way.

    I previously had a domain name which I want to use for this site so that others can view my blog but I’ve had trouble doing this.

    Essentially, I want others to be able to view my blog using my domain name – not “wordpress/”

    Do you know how I can do this?
