I just set up an application on Twitter and I have given the proper OAuth keys to WordTwit. I’ve also verified to time offset. However, when I save the settings, WordTwit consistently returns the following:

Unable to obtain authorization URL from Twitter.
Please make sure your server time is accurate or adjust the OAuth Time Offset below.

    Any ideas/suggestions/flames?

This is pathetic. What’s the point in using the plugin if we’re gonna continue to have this issue? Especially now being forced to use OAuth

Well. This is interesting. After the rant/vent session I posted yesterday (this thread: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/wordtwit-stoped-working?replies=12), on a whim I started testing a theory.

I installed wordtwit 2.6.2 on a site still running WP 3.2.1, and the link to sign in and authorize the app was there and working. No need to figure out which set of oAuth keys it wants.

I was able to connect two different sites to their respective Twitter accounts, and after I test them out, I will see if normal operations continue after upgrading both the plugin and WP.

I never had any problems with upgradingeither plugin or WP previously, it was getting version 2.6.4 to authorize the same way that previous versions had.

Try it for yourselves, your mileage may vary, but hopefully this may help out a few people who’d been stuck like I’d been.

Errors such as this one often occur because you’ve reached the maximum number of API calls Twitter allows per hour. This is even more likely if you’re on a shared server. You may try re-installing WordTwit and seeing if you can add a Twitter account. If that fails, wait about an hour (just in case it was the API issue above) and see if you can add a Twitter account then.

Other settings to check in your Twitter app:
    — Be sure to specify a Callback Url
    — Be sure to the application type to “Read and Write”
