Has anyone else had problems with the Work-a-holic portfolio post template not loading in the portfolio section? In both the portfolio section and the blog section, all I see is the blog post template. The difference, of course, is that the portfolio post template uses the image slider for photos and has a different sidebar.

What the portfolio post template should show:
    https://demo.graphpaperpress.com/workaholic/2010/06/08/aenean-gravida/

What I see for every single post (blog and portfolio) instead:
    https://demo.graphpaperpress.com/workaholic/2010/05/14/ut-ut-lacus-sapien/

I thought this might be an issue with the permalinks, but now I’m not so sure. I set this up using the second permalink option, which shows year/month/date/postname. Presently I have the ending of the blog url to show up as category/blog just like in the demo by Graph Paper Press. I got a developer friend to help me make a writable .htaccess file to upload to my FTP as one isn’t automatically generated, but if any changes are made to the permalink section, it’s still asking me to update the .htaccess file. I tried downloading the file from my server, and while it claims it downloaded, I literally cannot see the file anywhere. (I recognize that it’s a hidden file, but why it would still stay hidden on my desktop is beyond me.)

I figured out how to get the thumbnails on the homepage and the portfolio pages (using the Theme Options section), but when you click on those thumbnails, they still take you to a blog post instead of a portfolio post. I tried uploading only landscape photos, sometimes inserting them into the post and sometimes following GPP’s instruction not to insert them into the post. No matter what, they don’t show up and the wrong template loads. Along these same lines, it would be nice if the parent category that the portfolio pages fall under would load any of these portfolio pages too, instead of a list of blog posts. This is how GPP’s demo treats the portfolio section, and yet it’s not loading that way for me.

Can anyone help? This is maddening!

It seems the answer is that you can only assign one category to each post if you want it to show up in the portfolio section with the portfolio template. Assign any more categories to a post and the upper nav gets screwed up and the blog template loads.

This is hands down, the strangest template I’ve ever worked with. So many quirks!!!
