work on shop while landing page is online

  • Hi,
    i am a beginner in WP and I would like to set up a shop for a product. However, I have a landingpage which is online right now, which has its own theme along with a child theme and some plugins like mailchimp.
    I would like to complete the shop and once finished switch from landingpage to shop. I created a second page for the shop, but i do not know how to activate a theme for the shop without destroying my ladingpage.

    is it possible to work on the shop while keeping the landingpate?

    Various ways to do this.
    You will probably keep the theme, the same theme is used for the whole website, you may find you need to add some style customizations for your shop.

    What I would do is add new pages for the product and checkout etc, and make sure that the names of these new pages ARE NOT in the website menus. So that as a practical matter the pages are not visible to the world, without links even google wont find them. You of course do know the names, can create browser bookmarks to them and access them from the dashboard.
