  • Hey Holmey,

The Hide Backend feature is currently not compatible with iThemes Security. The developer is aware and looking into ways to make it compatible. I don’t have a timeline for when this will happen but I’ll be sure and update you here when there’s a change.

    Thanks,

    Thank’s Gerroald,

I’m finding iThemes Security brilliant, once that is sorted out, it will be perfect…

    Good day,

I am also experiencing an issue with using the Hide Backend feature of iThemes Security with the Theme My Login plugin. Resetting a user’s password does not work correctly. As your developer works on it, I figured I would provide some details of the issue I experience.

With both the TML plugin and the iThemes Security plugin (and the Hide Backend feature turned on), here are the steps to reproduce my issue:

    – When a user goes to login screen within the theme (thanks to the TML plugin), and clicks the link to reset their password (via the TML plugin), they are asked to enter their email address. Once they enter their email and click submit, they immediately get an automated email sent to them with a link to reset it. This works great.

    – However, when the user clicks the link in the email, they get sent do NOT get sent to the screen TML page to reset their password. They get sent to the standard WordPress password reset screen, ad they must go through the process of entering their email again to get an email sent to them with the password reset link.

    – Once they do, they get a second email with a link to reset the password. This time when they click the link in the email, they get sent to the standard WordPress page with the ability to reset the user’s password.are able to successfully reset their password.

    – The user should only need to fill out their email one time and get one password reset email and be able to go directly to the password reset page from the email link. With both the TML plugin and the iThemes Security plugin (with Hide Backend feature turned on) activated, the user must do this twice to reset the password.

And once I disable the Hide Backend feature, then everything works fine. So I can leave both the TML plugin and the iThemes Security plugin activated…but I just cannot have the Hide Backend feature turned on.

    Just figured I would share!

i look forward to the fix Gerroald.

    Best,
    Nate

    Hey Nate,

    Thanks for the thorough explanation!

The developer is looking into this. I’ll update this thread as soon as I hear anything at all.

    Thanks,

    Gerroald
