    Hi Sayontan,

I have Google Tag Manager code inserted in the <head> of the theme to capture clicks , which is required for tracking purposes and I understand that it is overriding the Photonic behavior, thus causing the lightbox pop up to fail.

I’m surprised that this is happening now, given that I’ve used photonic + GTM without such problems in the past.

I’m wondering if there are any workaround to this? Unfortunately I can’t remove the code.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

This would be a question for the Tag Manager plugin. Typically, such plugins might let you exclude certain elements from click captures via configuration.

Here is an analogy: Photonic has a lightbox that can be applied to any photo on your site, but the default behaviour is to only target Photonic galleries. I do this by focusing on elements with specific CSS classes. If, within Photonic, you select the option to target non-Photonic images, then the lightbox applies to everything. Any JavaScript code can be made to operate this way, but the author of that code should have the capability built in, in a manner similar to Photonic.

There’s no plugin for the Tag Manager as the tracking code is inserted manually on the theme’s php file.

The solution that I could find is to have the JS code inserted on pages that require tracking on clicks but not on the homepage and that means I can’t have a wholistic view on the website’s data on Google Analytics.

Hope someone will be able to figure out the best solution to this, because Photonic is such a good plugin for Google Photos integration with WordPress and I can’t be the only one who is using Google Tag Manager + Photonic for my website.

    Thanks anyway.

In that case, you will have to do the configuration on Google Tag Manager’s site. I am unfamiliar with the product, but it looks like you can configure individual triggers. See here. You will have to configure Tag Manager for your site to not fire upon clicking Photonic elements. This could potentially be a “Click trigger” – please reach out to their support forum for help.
