We have a small charity website that is constantly being bombarded with hacking attempts. I set this plugin to block all countries except the United States on the front end and back end. It worked for about 5 minutes but now it is blocking me from accessing the site. I’m in the United States. I had to disable it via FTP. What’s the deal? Thanks.

p.s. We were using the W3 Total Cache plugin but I cleared the cache and deleted it. IDK if there is anything else I can do regarding that. I currently have it set to only block the back end. If I need to get into the back end I have to disable it via FTP.

I regret that the plugin will not work properly with any cache plugin installed. Cache plugin will convert your content into static and all visitors will see the same page content.

Thanks for the reply. I cleared the cache and deleted the plugin. Your plugin still isn’t working, so that’s not the problem. I have it set to block all countries except the US. I’m in the US and it’s blocking me. What could be the cause?

Please clear your browser cache and try again.

If the problem persists, please enable the “Debugging Log” option on the plugin settings page. Then, run some tests.

Then, check back the “debug_xxxx.log” located in the plugin folder for client IP & action captured for details.

I see that my own IP address is marked as blacklisted on both the front end and the back end. If I remove it and log out I can’t log in again. If I disable the plugin via FTP and log in, then reactivate the plugin I see that my IP address is blacklisted again. What could be causing this? Thanks.

Please deactivate and uninstall the plugin, then try again. Disable via FTP may not clear the settings properly.

I whitelisted my IP address and now it seems to be working, although I still get the message “Sorry, your nonce did not verify” whenever I try to make changes.

Please try with another browser or disable all your browser plugin, then try again. It might be security/privacy plugin that block the verification.

I’m asking a few friends to see if the site works for them.

Please try it. If you’re not in the US it should block you. If you are in the US it should work.

It’s possible that I was being automatically blacklisted for logging in too many times.

I have tested your website with VPN and it’s working.

Great thanks. I will mark this resolved. I’ll leave my other post about the nonce error marked unresolved for now.
