I installed your plugin and tried several times to replace images. If I uploaded the image first so I could select it from the library it replaced the image one time. The other times the image I choose to replace the broken one disappeared but I still have a broken image.
I tried refreshing the page, still no new image.
I hope there is a simple solution. Your plugin could save me HOURS if I can get it to work consistently.

  • Hello,
Sorry to hear the plugin isn’t working as expected for you. My guess is that it’s due to a browser caching issue (the image is being replaced but the new image doesn’t appear since your browser still has the old image in its cache). We have provided more detailed instructions for disabling your browser’s cache in the latest release of the plugin (v1.0.5). Please update the plugin, click Tools > Replace Image, and follow the instructions shown. Keep us posted if you continue to experience any problems.

Thank you for responding. I have gotten it to work for a few more images without doing anything different.
I have also tried following your instructions for it being a caching issue.
I must be missing something. I have WordFence which I deactivated. I also have JetPack which contains Photon, which I turned off. I don’t think I have any other caching plugins. I also deactivated the browser cache. (I did all of these at the same time so all caching I know how to find was turned off at once)
Your app clearly move the image I select to replace the broken one. However that image is not showing up in place of the broken image.
I have no idea what I’m missing.

    Hi,
If the image file is being replaced, then there is definitely a caching problem somewhere. Are you sure that browser caching was deactivated? Typically, when deactivating caching from a browser’s Developer Tools window (F12), you’ll need to keep the window open for the setting to stay in effect.

    Hi again,
I disabled all my plugins except this one. I Followed the instructions for deactivating the cache, including keeping the window open. I select the image I need to replace. The one I want to replace it with disappears and the icon changes from a broken picture to like a gray page but no image.

    Hi there,
Really strange that it’s not working for you. Would it be possible to get access to your WordPress admin for further troubleshooting? If so, please send a login to [email protected]. Thanks!

    Did you get my email?

    Hi,
No, I haven’t received any email from you. Can you try re-sending in case it didn’t go through for some reason?
