Worked until Recent Update (5.1.1)

  • I’ve been using this for years and decided to update in order to use the latest X icon (formerly twitter). Since then the pop-up window that contains the X post form is blank. I get the same issue after multiple attempts, including complete uninstall/reinstall.

    This could potentially be a conflict with another plugin, but backward compatibility would be nice. Nonetheless a good plugin when it works.

    I’ve now fixed this. It seems that X is redirecting the following URL:

    https://twitter.com/share?text=

    to here:

    https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?text=

    This was causing a double-encoding of the title and URL. I’ve updated the relevant code in the Simple Social Buttons plugin and it’s now working as expected.
