• I have been using YOAST SEO plugin on about 30 small to medium sized websites during the past two years.
    • I am using YOAST for sitemap construction and metadata injection, which the plugin does sufficiently well after configuration.
    • Using the plugin however is not a good experience, the free version is extremely bloated and often unintuitive, the content analytics are barely worth it, it hijacks a lot of space of your WP administration environment.
    • If you use this plugin in other language than English be aware you may encounter the trap extremely poor and misleading translations.

  • Hi @thebys,

Thanks for using Yoast SEO on so many websites and for taking the time to write a review. Regarding your two last comments:

    • Yoast SEO 20.0 introduced a new settings interface aimed to improve the user experience and make it easier to find and use the features the user needs. If you haven’t updated Yoast SEO to 20.0 or newer yet, you may update the plugin and give it a try. As for the content analytics, do you mean the SEO/Readability analyses that appear on the post edit screen? The Yoast panel with the analysis can appear in two different places: 1) at the bottom of the page, below the content editor, or 2) at the sidebar. Both can be hidden. If you don’t use them and need help hiding any of them, please create a new topic in the plugin forum so that our support team can assist you further.
    • Please, note that the plugin translations are made by the WordPress community. If you find a text string or term in the plugin you think could be better translated, we’d be very grateful if you could contribute to the plugin translation, as explained here.

    Thanks!
