Ok. I think at this point, it’s likely not something with this plugin. I apologize for wasting your time, but I do appreciate all of the help. I’m going to dig a bit further into what one of our developers did when they set this theme up. I think there are some rewrites somewhere that I don’t know about.

No worries. Yeah, it seems like some rewrite rules are conflicting, but there’s nothing I can see from my point of view that should be causing the conflict. I’d start with outputting the results of get_option( 'rewrite_rules' ) and see if you see anything. If you’re still stuck I’d be happy to take a look at your code, if the project allows of course.

Did you ever track down the issue?

I’m still leaning towards there being some other conflict, but I did come across an issue in the code while working on the next release. Basically, every time you visited/refreshed a page under /wp-admin the rewrite rules would be flushed. So, it is possible that this was exposing a problem, or causing, the problem. Anyway, you can download 1.0 Beta 2 using the link below, if you’d like to test it out. The new version allows you to use a role-based author base, and other than that it’s just general improvements/fixes.

Hello, your plugin works for me but I’m not sure I need it any more. If I disable it, will anything change in terms of user names and slugs? I don’t want to break any links and such. Thanks for any info. Cheers.
