• As of version 1.0.1 at least it works. But after making my first post through SteemPress, I can see the developers have hardcoded themselves as beneficiaries on my posts. They are taking a cut of my work, 10% total, and I can’t turn that “feature” off.

    1. That’s ridiculous to begin with. Ten percent? That’s insane.
    2. The 10% cut is not mentioned anywhere in the documentation at the time of this review. That’s what is known as lying through omission.

If you’re using this plugin, I recommend you stop using it immediately and change your Steemit keys. Do not trust dishonest people with your posting key.

Hello @jdalden and thank you for trying out SteemPress and leaving your honest feedback.

I agree it should have been added to the WordPress description on www.ads-software.com, which was done today. I can assure you there has been no intention to keep this “secret”. To be short, we only just had the plugin approved a few days ago and did not expect others than our testers to really find and use it before announcing the plugin to be available for download on www.ads-software.com. Also done today. Informing on benefactor rewards there was always in the draft. You may read the full post here:

Regarding the statement that 10% is “ridiculous” or “insane”: I’m not sure if you are familiar with the other apps built on STEEM, but apps like Dtube and Utopian both take 25%, short form text apps such as Zappl takes 15%.

It is also worth noting that the benefactor rewards only affect the STEEM Power rewarded. This means that with a 50/50 split, it only affects the 37.5% you obtain as Steem Power after curation rewards are counted for, leaving the SBD rewards untouched. Also, while SBDs trade for above 3 dollars, it results in around 1-2% of the final dollar value.

Howo and I are committed to keeping the benefactor reward as low as possible while at the same time sustaining related expenses and making the workload we take on to build, develop and scale SteemPress worthwhile.

Please bear in mind that this tool is just out of the box.
Thank you for helping us spot our mistakes!

@jdalden, I’ve archived your last response. You left a review, it got a response. Reviews are not for argument and this does not seem to be going anywhere pleasant.

    I am closing this thread.
