Works, but stops working frequently

  • I like Anspress. We had very high hopes for it, and it did deliver. I like that it creates unique pages with URLs structured to use the words in the subject line of the questions and the answers. I like that it looks good and has a lot of customization options. There are a lot of great things about AnsPress.

    But it is finicky and is very sensitive to other plugins in your installation. For me, it works for awhile, then all of a sudden one day it delivers “page not found” when you click on a question. I then have to go into the settings, and mark/unmark the “Load assets in AnsPress page only” checkbox in order to get it to work again. This is a REGULAR ONGOING issue with it. And if you ask support about it, they blame the other plugins in your WP installation.

    If the plugin would play nicer and be less finicky and more reliable, I’d give it 5 stars.

    I think you and Tarrence on our site anspress.io are same person (Not sure but based on your issue its look like).

    As I have stated many-many-many time that you are using same slug for both questions and single question page and that is causing issue in your site. Last time I fixed it by logging into your site (with your shared credentials) but its look like you reverted slugs again.

    Though this is not the case anymore with 4.1.0. You can download it from Github and try it on your localhost. A stable version will release this month.

    Terence is my business partner and the lawyer on the team. I’m the tech guy (Jim Young) that manages the web app and marketing website (including Anspress).

    Where is this issue coming from (same slug name)? I have not changed any slugs in Anspress Settings, ever.

    Also, I can’t use a very popular table plugin called “Data Tables Generator by Supsystic” because it conflicts with AnsPress. Supsystic tables is a very popular plugin (20K installations), but you are saying it does things wrong.
